The Identity Theft Task Force is a federal government committee lead by the  Attorney General and the Chair of the Federal Trade Commission focused on identity theft issues. There are 17 federal agencies and departments that comprise the Task Force each having an expertise in a specific area that contributes to the federal government’s response to the problem of identity theft.  One unique part of the Task Force is a development of a uniform police report that can be used by identity theft victims to prove themselves with out having to recall to each business or agency individually.
