One of the easiest targets for an online thief is the information of a child. Because children don’t have any credit issues or bank accounts a child’s name is more easily used with out contest by criminals. It is important as a parent that you know your child’s rights and if you suspect someone is using your child’s name, how to handle the special circumstance of it. Keep your child’s name safe from thieves and demand that any website they go to provides them protection under the law.   The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”) provides protections for children and their parents from the indiscriminate use of their private information.
