Identity Theft, tips and safe guards 05; Handing Over Your Information

Published by privacylawadvocatelda at 7:41 pm under privacy law Edit This

One of the trickiest ways a hacker can get your information is by getting you to just hand it over on a silver platter. This type of scam is called phishing. Before answering an e-mail with your personal information be sure to go directly to the website of the company you want to have your information. Look for a padlock in the lower right hand corner which indicates a security page. If you point your mouse over the padlock it will show you who owns the security certification associated with the particular page. Check to see it matches the company you expect.
